Corona Virus - help and support

Help and support in your community during Corona Virus pandemic

If you, or someone you know, needs help with supplies or shopping for food because they are isolating due to the Corona virus there are local groups set up to offer help and support.  Click the link here to go to Covid 19 Mutual Aid website then either check the map or search your location e.g. Northumberland to access a list of groups, clicking on the group name will then take you to their Facebook page where you can post a message to that group.

Alternatively you can access a list of local organisations here put together by Northumberland CVA, their website can be found here.

Mental wellbeing and keeping safe during the outbreak

There are various sources of advice and support to help with mental health, a list of which is available here.  This information is provided by North East and North Cumbria Suicide Prevention Network and deals with general wellbeing, helplines if you are struggling, supporting children and young people to help them cope, staying at home and self-isolation, working from home and support for key workers.

There are other sources of support and a number of links are provided on our Home page to organisations including MIND and the Mental Health Foundation.  Anxiety UK is a national charity helping people who experience anxiety and who may be finding the current situation particularly difficult, their website gives access to information, resources and support, links to webinars and even a virtual choir.  You can check their Twitter page here for online support groups.

Northumbria Police

Northumbria Police continue to engage with the public during these unprecedented times and their advice in line with the Government's is to "stay at home" and "stay safe".  Due to the high number of calls to the 101 telephone number the Police ask you only to call if you really need to and if you have a question about Corona virus please visit their website here
