First Steps - Get Britain Working Trailblazer Support
First Steps is a project delivered by Cygnus Support as part of the new Economic Inactivity Trailblazer; a programme funded by UK Government that helps people who are currently out of work because of health issues. It brings together health, employment, and skills services so that those in need can get joined-up support to improve their wellbeing and move back into work when they are ready.
Are you aged 18-64 living in the Hirst or East areas of Ashington?
Our First Steps Team will engage with you to provide individually tailored support, enabling you to build transferrable personal skills whilst also improving your mental health and wellbeing as part of a journey towards and into sustained training and the world of work. The decision to participate is entirely up to you; but before you decide, our First Steps team will help you to understand what taking part involves. Some of the things that we can support you with include:
- 1-1 Support
- Counselling
- Wellbeing Group Sessions
- Employability Skills Training
- Community Volunteering Opportunities
To find out more about the project, or to refer yourself into the service, please email firststeps@cygnussupport.com.
Alternatively, you can call our main office on 01670853977 and press option 3 to contact the First Steps Team; just leave a message with your name and number and let us know that you are looking to access the First Steps service.
