Following a successful funding bid with the VCSE Mental Health Alliance, Cygnus are delighted to be able to expand on last years Community Canny Buddy Volunteer Initiative.
Our Community Volunteer Coordinator, Rita Timson, works closely with our Community Link Worker Team, to offer wrap around support to anyone considering volunteering but who may have barriers, particularly around poor mental health.
Beneficiaries can join our 6 week nurture programme where they will be offered confidence building and learn tools to improve their wellbeing. Our Community Buddies will be on hand to offer peer support along their journey.

Also if you are already confident and have a few hours to spare, then the team could certainly use your help at their community activities and in developing new wellbeing groups across the Wansbeck area.
