We have a vacancy for a volunteer Trustee at Cygnus Support

About Cygnus Support:

As a local charity we are dedicated to improving the mental health & emotional wellbeing of people across Northumberland. Our mission is to empower people to improve their lives by providing counselling, education, and support in their local community.

About the Trustee role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to join our Trustee Board – to help us to develop and implement a clear strategy for the future.

As a Cygnus Trustee you will attend board meetings every 6 - 8 weeks (currently online but may require in person in Northumberland in the future) to discuss progress against plans, consider outlook, and support the Team - ensuring that Cygnus delivers the strongest possible service to those who need us most.

Our Ideal Candidate will have a passion for improving mental health support for local communities.

Experience in the following areas would also be beneficial, adding to the skillset already within the organisation and helping to bring a diversity of knowledge and ideas to the wider board and organisational discussions.

  • Fundraising
  • Commissioning
  • Marketing
  • Online service delivery

What difference will you make:

At a time when mental health and wellbeing support services are stretched, across both Public and Private sectors - we have an opportunity to develop services to close gaps in provision and reduce waiting times. By giving your time, energy, skills, and experience – you can play a key role in improving people’s lives.

If you would like to find out more, then please contact Gill Fraser our Chair of Trustees on 07745 155070 for an informal chat.

To request an application pack please contact admin@cygnussupport.com

Please note the closing date for this opportunity is 30th September 2021.

A current DBS certificate will be required, and references will be taken up prior to appointment.

Many thanks for your interest,

The Trustee Board
